I am trying to select a motherboard for building a PC. Confused with the different Intel chip sets(h97,Z97)... which one would be good for Graphics / Audio quality.

Planning on a Intel i5 processor. Budget around 350 (Mobo +Processor +Ram)

The motherboard chipset doesn't affect either too much. The graphics processor in a modern i5 is built into the CPU, and the sound is typically a separate chip on the motherboard (often Realtek, but can be other)

Here is how to decide which chipset you should get.

1. Are you getting a Haswell refresh processor? You should probably get a x97 board.
2. Are you overclocking? You should probably get a zXX board.

Follow these two steps, and you'll be golden.

To be fair, most people literally can't tell the difference between audio chips and such, and nine times out of ten, the best improvement to audio quality is investing in some solid speakers/headphones. IIRC in one test, two supposedly discerning individuals literally couldn't tell which was a dedicated high-end audio card and which was a Realtek on the mobo.
