For $150 get the Z97-A. And for SLi you need a Z series motherboard. Also, you can overclock the 4790k with a Z series motherboard. If you only want one graphics card and do not want to overlock get the Asus H97-Plus. Hope that helped

I don't want to overclock. Does the Z97 motherboard have 2 slots for my 2 8 gig rams?

Basically all motherboards have 2 DIMM slots. What not all motherboards have is dual channel memory. Dual channel memory is on 4 DIMM slotted motherboards. Difference between dual channel and single channel memory: Well simply, dual is just faster.. Do not get dual channel memory and 2x4GB sticks confused. Dual channel only works if it has 4 DIMM slots and 2-4 sticks of memory. This is true for your Z series motherboards. So if a H/Z series motherboard has 4 DIMM slots. YES. It is dual channel. and YES. Your 2x8GB kit will work as quick as it can.
Can I have the Z97-A motherboard in the pcpartpicker.com form so I can find the item? Thanks. I will just use that. I am just asking: how many sticks of memory can I fit on it, can I put the i7 processor and gtx 780 card. if those are yes, then i am good to go.

Has specs on this page, you can go into the Newegg site for the full list of specs, but answer is yes, 4 dimm slots for a max of 32 GB of RAM and is compatible with the 1150 socket i7 CPU and the GTX 780.
