That's a good choice. I presume you have a high end 600W or better PSU?

Yeah I also think the 285 is the best choice, so I'd stick with that one.

The R9 285 is a great choice but not XFX. XFX has many great models of power supplies but not graphics cards. You would be much safer with the Sapphire R9 285 Dual-X http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168.... Sapphire is the most reliable manufacturer of AMD graphics cards with the best customer support in the market.

XFX have many known component issues and a terrible RMA process. I've had to use the XFX RMA process and never had any problems with Sapphire cards.

Good PSU. I have used the 650W and 750W on some of my builds for others. You are golden as far as PSUs go. The R9-285 is a good choice. But the R9-280 can usually be had for $20 - $40 less and is nearly the same at gaming. I have one with my Phenom II X4 @ 4GHz and it performs outstanding.

Just food for thought.

I've heard those same stories about XFX gfx cards. But I have used them for years in everything from budget builds to mid-high end builds. Never an issue. I still have an XFX R9-270 sitting on the shelf that came out of a build I tore apart for re-build. Ran the heck out of it and OC'd it too. No problems... yet. I guess it all depends on if you get a bad one or not.

Ok so if you were gonna buy one of those cards which would you go with the 285 or the 280.

Since the price difference isn't a big deal to me, I'd probably pick the R9-285.
