Hi, I have been looking for a portable laptop that can handle light use such as watching videos, searching the web, and word processing and I have found the Switch 10 as a possible option. I like how it is a tablet as well as a laptop that runs full windows 8, and I also like that on many sites (I'm looking on Newegg.com) that it comes with Microsoft Office. It is also currently only $300 on Newegg.com for the 32gb version and has a microsd slot so storage can be expanded which is a plus. My main concern for this is the keyboard, is it large enough to type word documents on? When comparing this keyboard to the Asus T100 I see that the Switch has a full sized shift key on the right side which is a huge plus for me. Also the battery life, it is supposed to get about 8 hours, but has been shown to average about 7 hours when watching videos, which is good while the Asus T100 averaged around 10-11 hours which is very impressive. Any opinions, talk about your experiences using one of these laptops if you have used them, or any other recommendations for a Windows 8 laptop under $400 would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If we view the device as a full size tablet that offers "a little more" and has an included keyboard, I think the device is fine. If the question is would I choose it over a notebook, and be happy with it as my only device, than not so much.

If what you really need is an affordable, portable notebook, than look at this Asus 11.6" model that is less money, and more usable IMHO.
