Can i use my old windows 7 disk?

You can use the old disk to install the OS but you would need a working serial key to activate windows. If the one on the case is already used, you're SOL (maybe it's a multi computer key though...).

At worst it's an OEM key and because you are only changing the drive and not the motherboard you are good to use it again. At beast it's a retail key which allows you reinstall as many times as you want, as long as you only have it running on ONE computer. You are only changing the drive so you should be fine any way you look at it.

Im 90% sure it will work if it's the same MOBO (forgot about that) and if not it will simply tell you. If that's the case, you'll need a new key/copy.

I have changed Motherboards and they will still activate. You just have to go through the Process.

Windows will most likely activate. If it does not, there will be instructions to call and enter some numbers which will probably activate windows for you. At worst it won't activate and you can contact microsoft and tell them what's up and they will normally get your windows activated for you. I think their main concern is that windows is not on more than one comp.
