is the mobo's back panel useful?

i just forgot to install it so now im running my gaming rig without the back panel and im wondering if it heavily affects the airflow and the dust coming in, should i rebuild the pc just to put it or could i let it like this, what do you think?

It (I/O shield) helps hold your mobo in place. It stops you damaging the connectors. You should put it in.

How will you operate the build w/o back panel? Where will you connect the mouse/keyboard/ethernet cables?
Re-build it, put the back panel in and then operate it.
