Dear all,

first of all, thank you in advance for any help and suggestions on this.

current setup is:

    Intel Core 940 i7 2.93 GHZ
    4GB RAM geheugen
    ASUS 1GB EAH667

I used to have a better GPU but it died. looking to regain my GPU awesomeness,

What would one suggest i need in order to upgrade my PC to run 2014/15 games at a high level.

many thanks,
Adam

Stick with the CPU. It is still good enough.

thanks everyone for the answers. ;)

Seems like it will be the GTX 780 or 970 i will buy. Would anyone know hat kind of voltage i require for these cards? 1000watt? 800watt?

for the 8GB MEM upgrade is there a particular brand which is better?

GTX 970 requires so little power, you would be fine with a quality 600w. Your CPU is triple channel, so you should be doing 6b or 12gb for proper performance.

GTX 970 draws power 145W for which 500W PSU is mentioned as recommended. That is the beauty of Maxwell, it is power efficient.

Your CPU has 3 Memory Channels. You will be benefited with three RAMs at a time though it is not necessary. You can grab 2x4GB at this time and add one more 4GB module later on if require. Buying triple channel kit would be helpful to ensure the compatibility between the modules.

Try G.Skill Ripjaws X or Trident, In Corsair you may try Vengeance.

Good luck.
