I've got an ASUS H97 mobo here, and yup it works with the haswell refresh CPU's. I'm using the G3240 in it at the mo.

Some info here about H97 and Z97

From an official chipset perspective, there are only two differences between Z97 and H97 chipsets. The first is the fact that the Z97 chipset supports CPU overclocking, while the H97 chipset does not. Secondly, the Z97 chipset has the ability to split up the 16 PCI-E lanes from the CPU which allows for SLI/Crossfire video card configurations.

Which isnt quite correct. You can use the G3258 on the H97 now and it can be overclocked. With a BIOS update

Your question is phrased weirdly. Are you asking about z87 vs z97 and h87 vs h97?

As for z97 vs z97 express and h97 vs h97 express, there are no differences. The 'express' does not mean anything, they are the same intel chip. Some people just call chipsets by their full name, like "intel z97 express"
