Hey guys, I was wondering if upgrading to 64bit would work efficiently with 8GB on my new PC. The specs are...

Intel Core i5 2400 3.10 GHz -1155 LGA
MB = H61M-E
Gainward GTX760 Phantom
4GB DDR3 memory, two mixed up brands therefore no dual channeling atm... (1333)
PSU is 600

Also, I'm thinking of getting 8GB DDR3 1600 RAM. Apparently my MB only supports up to 8.

Cheers !

The Asus H61M-E supports up to 16GB in a 2x8GB config ;)  It's a 1155 mobo

Is there any way to check for new mb drivers? I read my manual and apparently it only supports 8. Is there any changes you need to do in the bios when installing new RAM? Ive noticed I get quite a lot of power surges, could that be because certain components need more voltage?

And yeah I haven't done it yet because there really wasn't any need for me to upgrade in the past, until I got Metro Redux and realised its 64 bit only... hahah

Can check driver versions in Device manager, then go to the mobo web site and see if newer, same with BIOS but check for current version in the BIOS itself, when installing new DRAM if 1600 or better simply go into BIOS enable XMP and select profile 1, the system will set the sticks up for you
