I have a WD hard drive with 500 MB of storage. A LOT of my files are missing/have disappeared! The storage used still appears as 220 GB, but only about 40 GB of my stuff is visible to me.

Also, everything that disappeared was in one folder, the entire folder basically disappeared along with everything in it. It's the folder that I use/modify/add stuff to most often, I don't know if that's relevant at all but I guess it's worth mentioning. Someone please help :(

Welcome to the community, jenan!

Sorry to hear about your problem with this WD drive.
It seems like your folder and data still exists on your external hard drive, you just have to UNhide it.
You can do that by clicking on the Start Button
- type 'Folder Options'
- select 'Folder Options' in Control Panel
- then 'View' Tab.
- click 'Show Hidden Folders'

If this can't help, here's another solution from the community that helped others with the same issue:

Hope this helps you.
