i5 4200M vs i7 4710MQ

I'm aware I can just look up some synthetic benchmarks comparing and blatantly see that the i7 is better. I guess what I'm referring to is which one is better overall. The 4710MQ is just $50 more so I'll probably get it if it's worth it. Will I be able to tell a difference?

I was really wondering if an i5 4200M would slightly bottleneck an 850M as the i5 4200M appears to be just an i3 4000M with a higher base clock speed and turbo boost.

I'm just worried a dual core might hold the 850M back a little as most games today can take decent advantage of quad cores now. I really don't think so though. I'm just paranoid I guess.

Solution
mobile cpu benchmarks

4710 ranks 26th l2 1mb l3 6 mb tdp 47 MHz 2.5-3.5 quad core with hyperthreading (8 cores total)

4200m ranks 96th l2 512KB L3 3MB tdp 35 2.9-3.6 MHz dual core with hperthreading (4 cores total)

the 4710 is far superior, but the 4200m will use less power and extend battery life slightly. the 4710 seems more future proof to me and is the one I would choose if It is within your budget.

Huh usually CPUs with the i5 nomenclature don't support HT. Here is the laptop I'm probably going to buy. But instead of getting the CPU off of this site, I can get the i7 4710MQ off of SuperBiiz for just $240 which is just $10 higher than the i5 4200M is listed at on the site. Mostly just love the chassis on this laptop as it's definitely a wolf in sheep's skin which is very appealing to me. Also it'll match my HTC One M8 and my R4 case. :)
