Hey guys I'm both new to this forum and Korean monitors in general so apologies in advance for my lack of knowledge. Anyways straight to the point, I'm about to go university and was thinking about purchasing a QHD monitor for the primary use of using it as a monitor for Macbook Pro 13" with Retina Display but also some gaming with my PS4 (Fifa 14). As I've mentioned I have next to nothing knowledge on what to look for in monitors, so I've tried to do some research and made a list of what I 'think' are necessities in the monitor I'm looking for, so correct me if I'm wrong at any stage.

- Budget of £300 (<$500)
- 27"-30"
- 2560x1440 Resolution
- New
- Compatible with my MBP 13" (Link for specs: https://www.apple.com/uk/macbook-pro/specs-retina/)
- Compatible with my PS4, so I assume the monitor will have to have an HDMI port and also I've also heard of a need for a monitor which has an inbuilt scaler and or OSD?
- 178 degree viewing angle
- </= 6ms response time

A few queries I have about what I should be looking for:
- Glossy or Matte screen? I'll only be using this monitor in my dorm room so don't see lighting being a major issue so I thought maybe I'd opt for a glossy screen
- What cables would I need to purchase alongside the monitor (if any) to hook it up with my MBP or PS4?
- Also would I be able to display my MBP on the monitor whilst using Bluetooth speakers (Bose Soundlink Mini to be specific)connected to my MBP?

If anyone has a clear monitor in mind would appreciate it if you could link me to a seller assuming:
- Its a guaranteed perfect pixel model
- Reputable seller
- Ships to the UK
- At least a 1 year warranty

Just to reiterate I'm not knowledgeable in this area by any means, so if anything I've said is incorrect or you could suggest something better to add feel free. Would appreciate any advice my way.

Alright appreciate the quick reply, hopefully others can comment on that. If not I guess I'll purchase a monitor prioritising my MBP.

I have a Qnix QX2710 Evo II (The Samsung PLS model, DVI input), and its stated in many places that it doesnt support consoles or Macs.

I would look at a more mainstream screen to support them like this:

http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-S27B970D-27-Inch-LED-Lit-Monitor/dp/B007M4UUF2/ref=sr_1_10?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1410961157&sr=1-10&keywords=samsung+1440p

Probably the same panel, but with a better input controller board.

Right cool, that link actually made me remember to another requirement to my list: I'd only want to buy something that's new, and not been previously used. As based on the link you provided and a quick google search, I've only seen a used one available atm, but I appreciate the suggestion and I'll do some research on it & keep an eye out if I can find it from another seller. In the meantime I'd appreciate more recommendations and also if its possible for a monitor to be both compatible with a MBP & PS4.

I've been recommended this model: aoc-q2770pqu (http://www.pcpro.co.uk/reviews/monitors/389608/aoc-q2770pqu). Would be interested to hear what people think, and also what cables I may need to buy to use it with my MBP and PS4.

EDIT: Current price I'll have to pay for the Apple Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter is £75.60 ($123), if anyone knows a cheaper alternative would appreciate it otherwise I'll stick with Apple.

DOUBLE EDIT: Found a cheaper version (Kanex - £60): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=ATVPDKIKX0DER. Would be interested in hearing people's opinions.

Also wanted to ask would a Mini DisplayPort to DVI Dual-Link Active Adapter be the only way to get 2560x1400 resolution connecting my MBP to the Monitor, or seeing as the monitor has a display port could I use a Mini Displayport to Displayport cable to achieve the same resolution?
