First of all hello! New to the forum, decided to finally make an account after loving the solutions over the last 2 years!

I'm pretty familiar with components etc, but this one I can't get my head round. I play a few 'high intense' games like DayZ etc. Noticed a couple of months ago that my computer would just shut off halfway through the game. GPU and CPU temps are fine, narrowed it down to my PSU. Started to play PAYDAY2 last week, it's a great game. Got pretty far in to a game and suddenly the comp switched itself off again. PSU overheated and died, smell etc.

The PSU was cheap, like £25 for a 750w. It only does the overheating on certain games too. BO2 etc is absolutely fine.

Replaced it with another cheap PSU as the other lasted about 2 years. Started to the PAYDAY again, I could smell the PSU doing the exact same thing.

As said GPU temp is fine, as is CPU. Is it just the fact that the PSU is a cheapy? Literally played for 5 minutes and immediately could smell the PSU...

Any help is appreciated :)

I had EVGA gtx570 with i5 2500K and the old model xfx 550w, so the new one xfx 550w will work fine for your need.
