Let me tell you a few reasons why my build is better than yours:
Why go for Xeon 12-core processor when there's a cheaper and better much OC-able newer i7-Extreme 8-core 5960x X99 edition? The new extreme processors supportthe super-fast best DDr4-3300 RAM too, and has newer and better chipset(X99).
radeon r9 295x2 is cheaper and better than TitanZ. Currently it's the best graphics card on Earth.
Corsair h110 is better, has better airflow and cooling than 240l prestige.
The phantom 820 is better than the Lian-Li PC-V2120X in terms of airflow, style, etc.
Windows 8.1 is better than 8.
Why go for a DVD/CD writer when there's a much better Blu-ray/dvd/cd writer/reader!

I agree on the cpu but no one with this amount of money would do a CLC, a custom loop with waterblocks on the gpus would be in this as well

this is pointless overall though

Last night Lirik was GIVEN the chance to build a PC of his choice by ibuypower http://www.twitch.tv/lirik and his spec was something like:

32GB DDR4
i7 5930k or 5960k.
TWIN TITAN X GPU
Asus ROG Fancy Pants X99 mobo.
Either 2 or 4 1Tb SSDs.
Liquid cooling all round.

Can't remember the rest but it came to over $8000 ... and he got it for nothing!

This is me playing referee...
<<MOST EXPENSIVE BUILD EVER>>
So the record stands at USD 73,810.15, by thegamingprodigy0 (am I right?)
I don't think thermal paste should count.
Heck, I don't think any peripherals should count.
This is fun, let's put some rules in here.

Update: $750,000 rig
http://www.therichest.com/luxury/most-expensive/5-most-extravagantly-expensive-gaming-setups-ever/5/
"...a perfect example of bling hardware. The solid platinum case of the PC is decked out with diamonds... but it’s not super powerful. It boasts an Intel 3GHz E6850 Core 2 Duo CPU and features 2gb of DDR2 memory and a 1 terabyte hard drive..."

Stuff like this shouldn't count either.

The thing is that the guy who proposed a 70k build is getting these silly medical grade monitors that are 12k each which would be absolutely <mod edit> for games and 3 x 1.2tb pcie drives that's just retarded you only need 1 for the operating system and for the small things that are special or the one game you always play. So thats 12by 3 thousand and another 14 thousand not really needed the only cost needed would be about 15000 at best and if we were going to go big then I would get one of the SUHD tvs for gaming that have the response time of a monitor better colour and full refresh rate possible for 4k gaming now that's about 40,000 for the best 98 inch or 105 inch ones and if you were running 24gb in twin titan x's. Then why not get 3 of these for literally 300 inches of fun. Now that's style and I think I win. <mod edit> the ferrari. I'm taking a loan on this badboy. Honestly nothing is future proof but my build from 9 years ago still allowed me to play skyrim and it was worth about 1200 in total minus the monitor. With a set up like that. It would last me at the least 10 years with easy upgradeability.

Watch the language. - G
