Dear Tom's Hardware users,

a few days ago I decided to upgrade to Windows 8.1 Pro since I got a license key from my new school and so it all started very happily untill I got skype installed.

Now when I am in a call it suddenly says "Lost connection" like it would when ever your internet fails or the hosts internet fails. But the thing is, my internet is working fine.
I've got Kaspersky PURE 3.0, which I think is the reason for making skype crash on me.

I have tried googling around, adding skype to exclusions, changing my ports in skype and such but I truly don't know what to do.

I hope to hear from anyone soon!

Sincerely,
Qwizh

Easiest way to test if it is Kaspersky (or any internet security program) is to dissable firewall and see if it is stable then.

I have Kaspersky Internet Security 2015.

I have experienced your problems before, but after adding Skype to the exclusion list on KIS, the problem was solved.

The settings might be different on Pure 3.0, but try looking for it: Settings > Additional > Threats and Exclusions > Specify Trusted Applications > Find "Skype.exe" on your hard drive/SSD and save the settings.

Hopefully you won't experience it anymore! :)
