I have bought this thing because it was a reasonably priced laser and colour printer and the idea of being able to print on it from 3 machines in the house was nice.

Ok, so this printer is allegedly connected wirelessly to the other computers in the house through our TalkTalk home hub,

I have a work laptop, which works fine when browsing the web and allegedly I can print from it to the printer.

The other two computers are desktops running W7 and these are wired to the hub. Allegedly these can also print to this printer and in fact I have managed to get both these computers to spit out some text on the printer wirelessly on one or two occassions in the past.

My main problem is that the printer just does not seem to be happy with its mate the hub. I have a suspicion that the hub (setup by broadband man when we changed) is not fully setup to deal with a wireless printer and being totally adverse to any kind of networking or wireless tomfoolery (I actually detest any kind of wireless technology with a passion), I have no clue how to even attempt trying to fix this issue.

So, normally I am on my work laptop trying to print work related PDFs or office documents.

It goes like this.

Click print on laptop.

Printer clicks and sounds like its waking up.

Green flashy light on and off- receiving data??

Wait 30 mins.

Printer churns to life and issues a near blank sheet with the following on it:

SPL-C ERROR - Disconnected from host. Please check the connection and try again.

POSITION: 0x3a655 (239198)

SYSTEM: src/os_hook

LINE: 1981

VERSION: SPL-C 5.59.01 06-19-2013

Now this is pretty annoying. I would like the printer to actually do what it is told and work. At the moment it is in danger of being dropped out of a second story window and a USB only replacement being bought. I am that wound up with it I would happily forgo the £120 it cost just for the joy of junking it.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks

Ollie
