GTX 970 vs GTX 780? Is 970 better in every way?

I'm quite illiterate when it comes to hardware, however I know GTX 970 will be newer and "improved" over 780, but as i compare numbers i notice that some stuff like the memory bus in 780 is higher than that in 970 so i'm wondering based on the leaked graphics if there are indeed some areas where 780 beats 970??

Solution
From what I've seen the 970/980 cards will be well worth it, even with the lower memory and voltage. I'll be there when they are released, want to try a 980.

I think 970 will be better and faster in every way yeah, although not by much initially. Perhaps after a few drivers it will be more considerably faster, as Nvidia says that the Maxwell cards will be better for optimization software-wise (although we haven't seen any real improvements with the GTX 750 cards yet, I think). The 970 will draw less power too and also run cooler so it will probably run quieter.
Don't worry about some specs being lower numbers, it's a new architecture so numbers don't say much. The GTX 750 and 750 Ti for example (both Maxwell cards as well) had much lower numbers than the 650 Ti and Ti Boost, but were equally fast.

the numbers are definitely surprising though, especially the price, but i hope that the same happens with this series as the example you've mentioned. This would probably be the best improvement Nvidia had released in my time.
