As others have said, the best i5 on the LGA 1150 socket is the i5-4690K. It's the newest, and also the most powerful in specs.

Since it's so new, however, it's recommended you get a Z97 or H97 motherboard for it if you're building a new PC. The older Z87, H87, B85, or H81 boards require a Bios update to recognize the new CPUs, which is impossible unless you already have another older CPU installed.

It sounds like you are using this mobo right now, so just do a bios update before you drop the new CPU, then you are good to go.
As for the best CPU, if it is for LGA1150, i7 4790k is the best yet for the socket. If you are looking for i5 only, then 4690k will do the trick for you. However, the board you have right now does not support overclock. If you are not into OC, get the non K version processor. otherwise, you have to upgrade mobo, which is not really worth it even if you have the budget for it.

It'll work with a Bios update. Just update that before you take out the CPU you're using now.

Since your motherboard doesn't support overclocking, you may as well save some money and get the i5-4690 instead of the i5-4690K. They're identical in performance, the one with the "K" is just more expensive because it's unlocked for overclocking.
