i need to decide on a processor and mobo.

im looking at the e3 1230 v2.

the price is £160 and my budget is £230 for that and a mobo.

i can get an i5 4690k for £10 more but its haswell.
also what mobo should i get for s1155?
are the i5s better?

i need it for:
constant gaming, medium work (autocad), web surfing and itunes.

just those things. not much else at all.

thanks!!!!!!!!!

I would get the i5 4690k. Yes, it is haswell, but since you don't already have a mobo, that doesn't really matter.

You could probably get a Z97 board if you look around as well. It would about max your budget, but you'd have everything you need.

The i5 is a...

The i5 is a 1150 socket, so you would need an 1150 LGA compatible motherboard.

If you do not plan to overclock, you could probably get a H97 board though.

i dont want to oc but i will turbo whatever i get and i have a amc already so thats cool too. i want to save money and go for performance.

Now the i5 at 4.5ghz? Probably not. I can't say what the difference would be, but I would go with the i5 in this scenario. However, the i5 runs at 3.5ghz with a turbo of 3.9ghz. If you overclock it a full gigahertz.

Probably would be better than the 8350 though.
