Hey all.

I am considering buying a 295x2 to replace my 290x's in crossfire since i have run into problems with them which i believe to be a CPU bottleneck.

Will a 3770k be able to handle just the single dual gpu card version better then using a crossfire configuration?

I am also running 1080p 144hz

3770k@4.4ghz
8GB Ram
1000w EVGA G2
Win 7 x64

yes it will be. because that's a $1000 flagship gpu that stands on the top of the hierarchy. yeah that'll bottleneck your 3770k sooo hard at 1080p. you better change it to a r7 240/gt 730 immediately. bottleneck... such a dirty word being tossed around carelessly these days.

The cpu is not used for rendering the graphics and for gaming you will be just fine with an intel 4370 would even be enough to do most gaming without bottleneck and a 3770k is totaly fine for the next 3 years. if there would be a bottleneck it will most likely be the gpu, you can test it yourself just run a game that u like and look at the % of the cpu being used by that game ofcourse there are exceptions for games with heavy physics engines or massive calculations but there are not many of those games and are made to be totaly playable

OK well, i have read some reviews testing the 295x2 at 1080p and they results show very good frame rates which is what i need on my 144hz monitor. This is the reason i need such a high end card.

My only other question is i also read you have to be carefull about what PSU you use with it.

Would my 1000w EVGA G2 run it well?
