Hi everyone,

Before I go out and buy a new one, I wanted to verify my power supply is the problem. I ran CPUID HWMonitor and got the voltages below. Those that are underlined are outside 5%.

Hardware monitor ITE IT8772
Voltage 0 1.44 Volts [0x78] (CPU VCORE)
Voltage 1 1.50 Volts [0x7D] (VIN1)
Voltage 2 2.96 Volts [0xF7] (+3.3V)
Voltage 3 4.86 Volts [0xF1] (+5V)
Voltage 4 11.18 Volts [0xE9] (+12V)
Voltage 5 -8.93 Volts [0xBA] (-12V)
Voltage 6 -11.90 Volts [0xF8] (-5V)
Voltage 7 2.84 Volts [0x8D] (+5V VCCH)
Voltage 8 1.64 Volts [0x89] (VBAT)

I don't know much about hardware, but I assume this isn't great. I'd also be curious to know why the negative voltages are so much worse than the others.

In addition to running HWMonitor, here's a quick summary of what's happened:
My computer has been doing a lot of weird things lately, but it hasn't been locking up or resetting. The most is higher intensity programs like web browsers will crash or act very strange (pixilated graphics, random scrolling.) This wasn't fixed by a clean install of Windows or even Linux so I'm pretty sure it's a hardware issue. From there, I've tried different ATA and internal power cables, disconnected basically everything but the motherboard power, removed and moved around RAM, and tried a different HDD. All produced the same errors.

Thanks!

Hi, thanks fir the quick reply. I ran across that article and based my tolerances on that. Some are out of tolerance soI'm basically just looking for a confirmation that replacing the power supply has a good shot at fixing it.
