I recently tried to use my intel hd while having my gpu installed, because i am going to need to rma the gpu and i wanted to know if i cloud still use the pc. So, i turned off the computer and took out the dvi-hdmi cable of the gpu and monitor and then inserted the vga cable in the mb and monitor. I booted to uefi bios, and i got no display.
Was it because i had in chipset primary graphics option with pci express? I don't wanna change the option without being sure that the connection works, or it could be hard changing back to pci. Shouldn't uefi use any available display connection?

My build is:

Asrock Z87 extreme 3
Intel 4670k
AMD R9 270x

Thanks in advance!

Solution
could be. some boards you need to set it manually in the BIOS/save/reboot for it to stick......... try pulling the graphics card. hook monitor to board. reset cmos/boot.
