When overclocking a GPU, artifacts shows. Is it due low voltage?

Hi,

Im currently overclocking my GPU, so far im at 1100MHz on the core. (1070MHz was default). The memory clock is default aswell at 1400MHz. The VDDC is default aswell at 1.238.

When abnormalies shows up when playing BF4 e.x, like flashing artifacts and such, is it due to low voltage, or is it OC'ed too much? The GPU temp never exceeds 66C.
Im using Sapphire TrixX. 20% power limit is set aswell in AMD CCC.

GPU: Sapphire Radeon R9 270x 2GB DUAL-X OC.

If you want to go higher, you will need more voltage. The card you bought is allready pre overclocked, so it may not go much further. Check this out: http://www.hardocp.com/article/2014/03/10/amd_radeon_r9_270x_270_video_card_review/9 1165 mhz was all they hit. ;) Some are better overclockers, and some are worse. Usually it comes down to voltage and cooling. My MSI TFII 7950 couldn't even hit 1050mhz core with stock voltages without crashing or artifacting, but I was seeing people everywhere hitting 1200mhz+. I grabbed a modded bios that upped all the appropriate voltages, and now I run it at 1100mhz no problem. I even benched it at 1300mhz with a different modded bios, but the heat was too much. I recently grabbed a 7970 to add...

I recently grabbed a 7970 to add for crossfire, so I reverted back to the original bios and just matched clocks.

PS: I don't recommend tring a modded bios, unless your card has a dual bios switch on it. One is read only, so if something goes wrong you can always switch back to the factory bios by flicking the switch. I would never of tried it, if that wasn't the case. ;)
