Hi,
I have Asus Sabertooth 900FX R2.0 AMD motherboard and I bought 2 sticks of Corsair Vengeance Pro Series DDR3 2x8GB (16GB) 2400MHZ, but my computer says I only have 8GB or RAM.
I read that while my RAM is clocked at 2400MHZ, my motherboard can only support up to 2100.
I also read that for my motherboard, it would be recommanded to clock it at 1866.

I'm not sure how to change the settings in the BIOS and why it is recommanded to put it at 1866.
If someone could explain me how it works.

Thanks!

I can't find the XMP profile...
I found in Asus UEFI BIOS Utility the way to change the memory frequency, but I read that I have to adjust the timing and the DRAM voltage as well.
I'm not sure how to proceed.

No XMP proflies? Odd. My Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 has them. You will have to set your speed manually. That is a bit involved. But I'm afraid you bought faster memory than your board and CPU/mem ctrlr can handle. Anything over 1866MHz is going to be hard on the mem ctrl.

I think I have to change in the BIOS the memory frequency, the DRAM timing and the voltage. I'm just not sure what settings I should use. My computer is at the moment at 1333MHZ using 8Gb or RAM. However, in the Sabertooth manual, it says it can go up to 2400MHZ. I have 2x8GB (16GB) or RAM, but the computer only uses half.

So you tell me I should get other RAM stick?
