Im looking to upgrade from my current overclocked 2gb Nvidia 750ti from Zotac. Im pretty firm on staying with Nvidia simply because ive heard that intel and Nvidia work better than intel and AMD. Feel free to correct me on this.
So im looking at the 2gb 770, 4gb 770 or a 3gb 780. Price/Performance ratio is a big consideration for me. Budget is £300 maximum. Any recommendations not listed are more than welcome, but im wanting a card that is at least comparable to a 2gb 770.
I've been having VRAM issues on skyrim which i need corrected and a substantial fps increase with 2k - 4k resolutions is a must.

Current spec:
Power Supply : 500 Watt
Motherboard : Gigabyte H81M-H
CPU : Intel I5 4690 4th Gen Quad Core 3.5Ghz (turbo 3.9Ghz) CPU
Hard Drive : 1tb Sata Hard Drive
Memory : 8gb DDR3 1600mhz Corsair Vengeance Memory
Graphics Card : Geforce GTX 750 TI 2gb

Thanks.

A r9 290 will be good or even wait for 970 to be out

amd works fine with intel go for a 290x best bang for your pound , scan has one for 269 but is not got aftermarket cooler
and amd has bigger frame buffer 4gig instead of 3

An AMD CPU won't 'prefer' an AMD GPU much like an Intel CPU won't prefer an NVidia one, if you want a 300GBP card, I recommend the R9 290, it would blow your 750 ti away and its performance is similar to a GTX 780, and it has more VRAM, I recommend the MSI Twin-Frozr, Gigabyte Windforce, or Sapphire Tri-X coolers, stay away from the stock cooler (really noisy) or ASUS DCUII (designed for NVidia cards and is inefficient for AMD cards)

Thanks for the responses. The 4gb 290x seems to benchmark lower than the 3gb 780 as expected, and i can buy either for around the £280 - £300 mark. The 290 vs 770 puts the 290 on top available to be at £250 where i can get the 770 for around £215. Thoughts?
Also are there any preferred vendors for these cards?

thye extra 35 pounds is worth it, for r9 290, sapphire, asus or xfx are good, for nvidia, asus or evga

the 290x benches higher than 780, thats why nvidia brought out 780ti to take crown
