On pcpartpicker I ran into a alleged compatablity issue that reads:

"The G.Skill Trident X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-2133 Memory operating voltage of 1.6V exceeds the Intel Haswell Refresh CPU recommended maximum of 1.5V+5% (1.575V). This memory module may run at a reduced clock rate to meet the 1.5V voltage recommendation, or may require running at a voltage greater than the Intel recommended maximum."

However on newegg these are included as a combo I'm looking to purchase along with the asus maximus hero VII mobo.

Should I avoid the combo and find RAM that is more compatible or will I be ok?

Solution
In BIOS, you'll need to go into Advanced Mode>Ai Overclock Tuner>XMP Profile. Then set up the speed as stated in Memory sticks, 2400Mhz and timings, 9-11-11-31 from the options and hit save. You're good to go from there :)

I was thinking the same thing to myself. Why would newegg combo these things together if there would be a conflict in compatibility. I know I could run the card with the CPU but was just wondering if there would be inadvertent shorting of the CPU's lifespan or a chance of damaging it. The little " ! " on the website (pcpartpicker) just kind of had me reconsidering my choices.

I'm relieved to read that. It's my first time building my own pc and I want to just make sure everything works together harmoniously. If you don't mind just 1 more question, how do I get and/or play with the settings for an XMP profile?
