i had to warranty rma some parts so my computer is down and wondered would a dell xps 420 with i believe a 425watt psu would it be enough to power a radeon 280x?

imma guess no but i thought id ask to see what others think

No.

That card will want at least a 600w psu to be able to power it and the rest of your components.

That Dell PSU would be ok to power a 750ti but that is all, I would not trust that OEM power supply on a 260x let alone a 280x
