Hello all,

I am experiencing a bluescreen, or more accurately, a failure to come out of sleep mode

Every time I try to wake my pc up from sleep it's trying, failing and re-setting. Or at least that's what I think is happening, as I used BlueScreenViewer and the time stamps for the crashes are exactly when I try to wake up the machine.

Bluescreenviewer calls out HAL.DLL, NTOSKRNL.EXE, and NVLDDMKM.SYS as the issues. I'd post the dump but I'm not sure how, if someone can let me know I can do that.

I also have the most recent NVidia driver, and this is a refresh install of Windows 8 trying to fix the problem, which started a few weeks ago.

Any help would be great, thanks.

Sounds like a GPU issue, I can't be sure though. What are all your specs?

intel i5 2500k
8 gigs ram
Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 Ti

Running windows 8

I also just now noticed that in device manager I have an unknown device on "Intel(R) Z68 Express Chipset Family LPC Interface Controller - 1C44" that can't automatically find its driver through windows

I have no idea if that's related though.

Go to the mobo makers site and find the chipset drivers the update option in the drivers tab doesnt install everything

It wont be related but should be installed

Yep did that part, thanks.

I figured this was a GPU issue but I don't know if I need to replace it or there's something that can be done to fix it.

New symptom: this time windows itself told me that the NVIDIA driver had crashed in the message center, but just told me to update my drivers, of which I already have the latest.
