Switching to new dedicated card

I have an ATX Micro LX plus MOBO and just ran the install disc for my AMD Sapphire r7 265 graphics card.

The problem is I don't know how to switch over from the integrated one. I've looked under Systems ----> Display adapters, and only lists the integrated.

I can't find any type of .exe file if I have to run another type of install. I have the Catalyst control center and it doesn't have any options either.

I also looked in the BIOS but couldn't figure out anything that looked like it would work.

The card isn't being shown as an option, and the fan isn't running, but I have ran the install disc.

Solution
Modern motherboards will switch from onboard to the the dedicated board automatically. Plug it in, hook up the monitor to it, plug in the required power cables to it (you did make sure your PSU is big enough, and has connectors for it, right?) and then it should be good to boot with and then install the drivers.

I am running a VGA from monitor to MOBO now, and have HDMI from monitor to GC. I don't have a VGA on GC, or HDMI on MOBO.

And it doesn't work when only having the HDMI into the monitor and card. My monitor has auto detect as well, with no luck.

New mobos and cards are pretty much plug and play (after driver install).

You should not have to change settings after you install the card.

Make sure the card is getting power.

Unplug VGA from MOBO and plug in only HDMI from the card.

Let us know what happens.

If you do not get a post during reboot you might have deeper problems.

I have one monitor with both a VGA and HDMI inputs. I have both plugged in.

My card only has an HDMI and my MB only has VGA slots, so I have one connected to both. Even when I unplug the VGA from the monitor and MB, leaving only the HDMI plugged into the monitor and card, it doesn't display anything and the card doesn't kick on.

I restarted the computer with only HDMI plugged into the GC and the monitor and still no display. I think there is a blue light coming from the card (could be be MB?) but it isn't spinning.

My initial point was I'm not sure it's even installed correctly, because I could never find it under display options or anything, only the AMD 3000 integrated.

I put in the CD, ran everything (express install), and hit finish. But never any other driver search or anything after that.

Go into the AMD GPU software. Its called catalyst control center (CCC). See if you can find any settings for HDMI. You may also have to select the HDMI input on your montior/TV or whatever you have.

The PC might be pushing video from both but if the monitor is looking for the wrong thing that could be it also.

You insert the card into the PCIe slot, you plug the cable from the monitor to the video card, either cable you use is fine. Just make sure under the menus on the monitor that you have the correct one selected. (I am talking about the menus on the monitor its self, some of them need to set to the correct input in the menu) Turn on the PC. Thats all you have to do. If you are getting no video output, there is something wrong with the card, the way you have it installed, or your PSU is not big enough to run it. Thats all there is to it.
Drivers etc all that comes later after you boot into Windows.
And PS, of course you hook up power connections to the card from the PSU if required.
