sound card for microlab solo7c speakers

Speakers work very well on onboard audio, but not great. My audio now is crisp and clear but a bit flat and quiet. I have to set them at 40 to fill my average sized room with sound(scale 0-60).
Would sound card give an extra boost?

No budget.
