How to get Desktop to fill entire screen on HP Pavilion 23tm monitor

I just got my HP Pavilion 23tm monitor and have it set at 1920x1080 resolution, but it doesn't fill the entire screen. Small or large resolution, the screen still has about an inch all around that is not filled. Any ideas?

There is a factory reset option in the on-screen menus of the monitor. Try that first.

Go into the video settings, (ie: ccc or whatever drivers you installed for the videocard), the option will be there somewhere

I was trying to set it without the graphic card drivers just to see how the on board graphics would work, but just couldn't figure how to get it working. Works fine now that I installed the graphic card drivers. Thanks all for the help

Yup you need the drivers. The generic drivers dont install a lot.
