Current setup: GTX 670 4gb x 3 SLI powering --> 3 x 27" Asus 27VE278Q Portrait.

I've learned that Nvidia Surround is limited to 3x1 and I'm interested in going to 5x1 portrait thus Eyefinity.

Assuming I can sell my GTX 670 4gb for $300/each...what is the communities recommendation to power 5x1 Portrait (5400x1920 resolution) on the Radeon side - ideally within the $900 I'd make by selling the GTXs.

Thanks.

He has three. And they are the 4GB models. Though you are right, not sure he'll get $300 for each.

A pair of 290s is what I'd look to. 290X's if you can swing it. Might need to pony up a bit more money for that though. Make sure you buy cards with upgraded coolers.

The new GTX 980/970 have HDMI 2.0 support and 5 display outputs: DVI-I, HDMI 2.0 and three DisplayPorts 1.2 (not 1.3). The GTX 970 should cost about $300.

Release is only a day away, so I'm sure you'll know more by the time you're ready to make the final purchase.

If AMD can't do 3 Monitors at 120/144 Hz, I gotta wonder what the issue is if it can do 6 monitors at 60. Last I read, they needed Display Port 1.3 to accomplish that.
