Haswell vs Broadwell

Solution
Between Haswell & Broadwell there will not be much of a performance improvement other than for the integrated graphics core. Broadwell is more about further reduction of power consumption. CPU performance itself will likely only improve 5% - 6% on average as it has been since Ivy Bridge was released.

Performance for Intel graphics core in general is estimated to improve by up to 40%. But that is probably for the Iris Pro version (HD 6200??). Outside of Iris Pro the performance increase for lower model iGPUs could be 30% - 35% on average.

This is not a big deal for most gamers with desktop PCs since they will likely install dedicated GPUs. However, for laptops this is a huge selling point. Any improvement in iGPU performance is...

With 14nm Broadwell w'd be highly efficient and we can expect some performance improvement over Haswell. The Skylake is also coming just behind. So you should wait.

Any improvement in iGPU performance is generally welcomed since it raises the minimum "gaming performance" level of all new laptops. People who either cannot or do not want to spend too much money for a laptop will still be able to play games to a certain point. Of course if someone demands to get at least 50FPS in any and all games, they would need to buy a laptop with a dedicated GPU.
