Hi all,

First let me tell you guys I am kinda the newbie when it comes to building and cooling. I just finished my first rig and everything worked fine, however, my temperatures are reaching 100C degrees and I have no idea why.

I ran some stress testing on it (HeavyLoad) and it stayed fluctuating between 97~100 at all times. At the time of this screen there was only 1 installation happening as well. This can't be normal.

I am using a corsair H100i for cooling and I didn't apply any thermal paste as it already comes pre applied. The rest of my build is:
Asus Maximus VII Hero
G.Skill 2400mhz 2x8GB sticks
GeForce GTX 780
PSU: Corsair 860AX

I would highly appreciate some help and guidance on where to start researching the problem.

Thanks in advance.

Yep, glad that was it. I just did that and now it doesn't go higher than 75 on the stress tests.

For someone out there having the same problem, I installed my cooler using the washers provided on the package. Removing them solved my problem as the contact area with the processor became tighter.

By the way, 75 under stress test is totally fine, correct?

Thank you!
