Some motherboard for your processor would run DDR2 , some would run DDR3 and a very few can run either DDR2 or DDR3
It depends on the model and on the chip set on the board .

If your board has a pci-e x16 slot any pci-e x16 graphics card will fit . The kind of graphics RAM is not important to compatibility

the 915 chipsets only support DDR2 . The board could not install or run DDR3

Yes, please refer to my original comment. It doesn't matter what graphics card RAM you have - it has nothing to do with your motherboard RAM.
