Not really sure what else to say about it. I have the latest firmware installed for my drive. I've had it for less than a year. It will work for a few hours just fine and then tell me the bin is corrupt and I can't access anything on the drive without a reboot. Fresh install of Windows 8

On a side note, I don't remember having this issue with Windows 7. That's probably not relevant.

Hey there, IcyRhythms!

I'm really sorry to hear about your problem, though I don't think this error is because of the WD Passport.
You can check by connecting the external drive to another computer to see if it still pops up.
Here a fix for the "recycling bin is corrupted":

You may have to do this for each HDD partition on your computer.

Hope this helps you.
Keep me posted! :)

This is a new computer with new mobo/and other parts. Was doing the same on my previous as well

Sorry about that, must be pretty annoying.
I'd suggest then to backup the data from your WD My Passport and re-format the drive.

This should be able to resolve the issue and prevent the error from appearing.

I hope this will work for you.
