Hi All,

I just started overclocking my fresh I5 4690K.

My config :

Asus Z97 A
I5 4690K
TX3 + 2 Noctua NF B9 push /pull
+ 3 120mn fan on the case ( Front /back / Top)

Here my question i overclock my CPU to 4.4 GHz very easily increasing the CPU core at 1.120 ( which sound promising ?)

I ran some stress test with Prime95 and OCCT see below result :

Prime95 (1 hour):
Idle : 34C
Load : 60 to 70C but some peak occur at 82C ( few second)

OCCT ( 1hour):
Idle 34C
Load : Not more than 65C

If i look at OCCT temp i think i can go further ( 4.6 GHZ ? ) but prime95 is slightly higher with even some peak to 82C so i would not try to go further without changing my heatsink.

So my question is what is the most relevant temp to look at ? the one generated by OCCT or Prime95 ? do you think i still have some room to go further without changing my TX3.

In addtion 4.4 Ghz for 1.120v seem to be good according to others thread i have read here so does it mean i was lucky with this CPU ?

In addition i would like to know if it's more accurate / relevant to monitor temp on each core ( I.e real temp ) or just to look at the single sensor displaying CPU temp ( MB tool or AIDA95)? ( i noticed temp on each core is fairly more high than the single sensor displaying overall CPU temp , for example under OCCT single sensor state max 65C when real temp indicate 70/75C more or less on each core) ?

Thanks in advance for your feedback and advice.

Well I agree however i quite surprized that the TX3 is doing so well for sure the 2 noctua push/pull should help a lot there.

My batch seem better than Anantech one as they need more Core volt than me to reach 4.4 Ghz :)
