What PSU should i use?

my specs are

MSI A55M-E33 Socket FM2+ VGA HDMI Audio mATX Motherboard - £27.99
AMD A10 7850K Black Edition 3.7GHz Socket FM2+ APU - £126.99
Kingston 60GB SSDNow V300 SSD - £35.99
Crucial 8gb Ddr3 1600 Mhz - £59.00
Corsair CWCH80 Hydro Series H80 High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler Refurbished - £38.95

Im looking for the smallest PSU ever but still gives enough juice to power this system

P.S. The reason im looking for a small PSU is that ATX take up too much space and im planning on designing a custom case which i want small as possible.

R9 270X is rated at 180W, a good quality 450W supply would be enough. You are looking for something rated at 33A or 396W on the +12V rail. The silverstone 450W supplies above are arted at 37A on the +12V rail and the 600W is rated at 50A on the +12V rail.

If looking at discrete graphics, an AMD APU probably isn't your best choice.
An Intel Core i3 has much higher performance and also lower power usage.
I would still say minimum 450W power supply with the core i3 and R9 270X but it won't have to work as hard and you will have less heat to deal with in your custom case.

If you are looking for a smaller PSU, choose an SFX model rather than ATX.
Note that these will be more expensive than ATX supplies with the same specifications.
With a quick search I found these models, not sure on quality:

Silverstone ST30SF 300W
Silverstone ST45SF 450W
Silverstone ST45SF-G 450W
Silverstone SX600-G 600W

The 300W model should be plenty for your system with no discrete graphics card.

Also found the Seasonic SS-350SFE 350W. Probably better quality that the Silverstone supplies.

Hey guys. Thanks for your replies. So far the sfx series seems promising but since it has discrete graphics I'm guessing 450w would be more suitable or would a 350w work out just fine?

What do you mean by discrete graphics? Cause I always thought des create graphics was when the CPU was an APU and carried the side of the graphics. Isn't that why it states on the box that it has discrete graphics? I'm confused now lol

Okay. So 350 should be efficient then. If I wanted to have the new msi nvidia r9 270x 2gb itx. What PSU would I require then. It says it's only 140 odds watts. Would the 450w be enough for that?

Designing your own case might be interesting, but machining it won't be easy.
There are a lot of small form factor cases available, some of which can handle ATX power supplies and full size graphics cards.
Have a look at these:

If looking at an ATX power supply, the one suggested above is very good if it is still available.
There is a newer model too, the XFX TS 550 which is 80 plus gold rated.
