Can't Install Driver on Windows 8, Meaning No Internet

So I've been trying to access the internet on my new desktop, and it hasn't been working. Neither the wired or the wireless internet is working. I've tried installing the drivers and I always get Fatal Error 1603, meaning that I am unable to install anything. I have been told that I need to switch the Windows Installer drop down menu to Automatic, and it's on Manual now. It seems like it would be simple to fix, but it is greyed out and I cannot click anything. I'm assuming this is the problem, but I'm thinking maybe it's a virus too. Could anyone help with how I might be able to click that drop down menu? Thanks!

Windows 8 fresh install has always been notorious for failing and bugs, these are the step I would take,

Device Manager > it should display your network adapter as red or yellow warning > right click > update driver software > Browse my computer for software > find the folder which contains the drivers and install, that should work.

For further information can I ask what motherboard and wireless card you have?

I've tried that, and selected for it to scan the whole computer and nothing. The main problem is that I am unable to install it because of what I'm assuming is Windows Installer. Was it wrong to scan every save point, and should I have selected the individual folder? Thanks a lot though, and here are the specs: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/HgbxTW

Windows Installer shouldn't be the problem. Yes you should have selected that specific folder. Did your PCi-e wireless card come with a disk for the drives or are you using the manufacturers one from the website?

I'm installing off a disc, since I can't access the internet at all. I was told however that Windows Installer's drop down menu needs to be set to Automatic, and mine is set to Manual. I can'g set it to Automatic because it is all greyed out and I have no idea how make it selectable. Are you sure the drivers will be there? Because mine haven't been installing, though I'm thinking they were there before since my wireless adapter had been working in previous weeks, then when I want to switch to wired it doesn't work MSI me RMA the motherboard, now neither work.
