I bought a Samsung 830 256gb SSD a few weeks ago from Ebay.com. At first I thought the drive was running slow because it was updating or installing stuff. I get Read speeds around 480MB/s and Write speeds around 380MB/s on AS SSD. Shouldn't i be getting 520 Read and 400 Write? I have Samsung Magician installed and i have it on the performance preset with hibernation disabled so save space. My drivers/firmware are up to date according to Samsung Magician. I have no idea whats wrong with it. Any help is welcome.

Thanks!!!

480MB/s is 92.3% of 520MB/s.
380MB/s is 95% of 400MB/s.

Your drive is in great condition. :)

If you look closely, it says UP TO. Which means you won't always get those speeds. Also, just so you know, by buying it on eBay, you've voided the warranty. Doesn't matter if it was new or used.

Every system is different. Even if you bought the same exact model of computer, with the same hardware, you will get different results. You will never notice the difference between 480MB/s and 520/MB/s. At this point your just grade-grubbing.

Even if you could, you would not notice the difference.
And if you were to choose a different benchmarking tool, you'd probably see a different result. Higher or lower.

Yeah, some people get caught up in numbers but it seems like you are fine with the performance. Numbers only mean so much... at some point, the real world difference is not even noticeable. At those speeds anything that you want to load or write should still go quickly enough.

I was a numbers person and realized that it can get expensive after awhile if you always want to get "higher" performance!
