Here's the setup from PCPartPicker:

Case: Corsair 450D
Motherboard: MSI Z97-645
Memory: Kingston Fury Red (2x8GB)
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM
SSD: Sandisk Ultra Plus 128GB 2.5"
CPU: i7-4790k
GPU: MSI Radeon R9 280x
PSU: EVGA 450W 80+
Optical Drive: ASUS DRW-24B1ST
OS: Windows 8.1 64-Bit

I've been looking forward on building my first PC that is mainly for gaming and editing. I will be playing games on High - Ultra settings at about 45fps or more. Some of the games I'm looking forward to are BF4, Skyrim, GTA 5, BioShock Infinite, etc. Then comes editing, which is something I do a lot. I'll be using Sony Vegas Pro 12. I've chosen an i7 and 16GB of memory since it's been heard to greatly improve editing. What do you think of it? Oh, I'm also trying to stick to a Black / Red theme as well :)

Solution
The CS will be much better. However if you overclock, you will need to stay away from tier 3. The PSU is he most important part and if it completely dies, you may lose all your parts. I recommend a tier 1–2.

u should wait a bit IMO and get a GTX 970 or a 960 or the 285X coz a R9 280x and a 4790K will eat up on your PSU im sure

PS: if u dont really need that SSD u should just drop it + Drob the 1tb HDD and get a SSHD instead

Didn't the GTX 970 just come out today? I don't even think it's been officially announced but I'll wait!

I'm trying to decide between a Corsair CSM 650W 80+ or Corsair RM 650W 80+. Which one would be better for my uses?

I won't be overclocking anytime soon! Now I'm left with $300, and I need to spend it on the GPU. What would you go for? Here is where I'm currently at.

Will be sticking with the SSD, for the fast boot times and where my editing programs will go.

well ur left with waiting for the R9 285X or the GTX 960 u need to get the best bang for your buck also both use Lower Power than the R9 280X so can still OC ur CPU+GPU with out worrying about power also with a 650W psu im pretty sure u can Xfire/SLI in the Future

and u can also get a MX100 instead of the Sandisk Ultra Plus it has a slower Max Sequential Write tho

i think a 750W is a bit more on the safe side i agree how ever im runing a 7950 Vapor-X Crossfire with a 3570K OC'ed to 4.8GHZ there is no way he is gonna pull as much wattage as i do so im pretty sure a 650W is safe as long as it is a Quality PSU it should do
