Explorer.exe unresponsive at times

Hello. I am having a bit of trouble with my computer at the moment and I am unsure why this is happening again.

I have a HP Pavilion dv6-7000 Laptop and its only a few years old now. Recently, through these forums, I found out how to configure the AMD Radeon HD settings, and had to update the drivers in order to do so. This is where more trouble started and its two main issues (one now, read the edit)

1] When I got to My Computer or right-click and selection properties, it'll try to obtain the Windows Rating Index for my laptop, but then explorer.exe will crash suddenly and restart.
((EDIT: As I was writing this, I reinstalled the 4.5 .Net framework and it fixed itself xD ))

2] Whenever I use YouTube or Facebook for extended periods of time (an example is 45 minutes), the computer locks up completely in mid load (Facebook) or in mid-video (YouTube), unable to move the window, can't open task manager, can not close the said window, the mouse still moves for another 30 seconds, but then it freezes and I'm forced to manually shut it down.

Originally, I thought this was just a bug or outdated edition of Flash for FireFox, but since I switched back to Chrome, it still has been doing it on and off as well on there, too.

I am curious to see what results or advice anyone can provide.
Thank you in advance.

(Edit: My computer has been running a lot better since the .Net framework was reinstalled. I am unsure though if that might of been the issue all along, or what.)

In 'Computer' right-click on whichever HDD has windows installed on it, go to properties, then the Tools tab > Error Checking > Check Now. If all looks normal with that I would run memtest next...

I'm going to do an Error Check. Another situation I am having now is with Skype.

Originally it was saying 'Appcrash: ntdll.dll' but now it just loaded so.....ugh... I am getting frustrated and confused....at this.
