So, recently my uncle gave me an old acer laptop, an aspire 1694LMI http://www.notebookreview.com/notebookreview/acer-aspir...
It came with windows XP, which I upgraded to Windows 7. Everything seemed fine, but the sound was weird. So I tried to update the drivers with the ones I found on the ACER website for the aspire 1690. Thing is, now I have no sound at all. From what I have gathered it is a Conexant audio thingy, tough very little info anywhere.
Can anyone help me? I have tried uninstalling drivers, running windows update, device manager, installing drivers in compatibility mode, etc. But no gold. I don't want this pc for myself, it is for my brother, so any help is apreciated. If you want a Log or anything, please post detailed instructions on how to get it and how to upload it.
