Hey guys,
I have a AMD Athlon II x3 460 with a secret 4th core. I tried to activate the 4th core but my computer just shuts down. This happened before and my stepfather was able to turn the 4th core of MANUALLY and start up the PC again. Sadly he won't hep me this time.
So, how do I manually turn the core off? I know it's possible but I can't find it anywhere on the internet. Ideas?

Remember that I can't turn my PC on, I need to do this by hardware.

Solution
Reset the bios defaults using the cmos reset jumper on the motherboard. This should disable that 4th core, which is most likely defective and why it was sold as a 3 core cpu instead of a quad core.

You need to se your motherboard manual to know how do you need to put that jumper.
