Can I use isopropanol for cleaning my cpu?

Can I use isopropanol for cleaning my cpu? Thats what they got in my shop, but I see someone is mentioning isoproyl, what is the difference? And can I use mine?

I'm going to clean the cpu for thermal copound (think thats what its called)

I'm in highschool and I've taken organic chemistry. Isopropyl alcohol is exactly the same as isopropanol. The "ol" on the end stands for alcohol. Get the highest percentage you can though.

This, and don't forget to let it dry thoroughly before applying new thermal compound.
