I have recently build a computer and got the old screen of my parents

but somehow i only can change resolution to 1080p in AMD catalyst and not in windows
If i go to the ingame settings of a game i also can't change it up to 1080p

both my gpu and screen do support 1080p
i already have reinstalled my gpu drivers and amd catalyst center once

What's up with that?

Solution
try changing out the cable to the monitor. if that doesn't solve the vertical lines on the screen then send the card back and get a new one.

but you'll probably won't find much information, at least i couldn't find any info

ill ask my dad to take a cable from his work tomorrow

btw i don't have verry much room at the back of my case so the cable does bend a lot, oculd this have broken te cable?

I planned to hook up my pc to my humax tv downstairs, with a hdmi cable, if i then don't get those horizontal lines then it's or the cable or the screen right? or do tv's filter those lines away?
