Howdy folks of the forum! I have just recently today replaced my GTX 650 for a GTX 770 and boy am I giddy to start testing this badboy out!
However I have a question. Now this may be a silly question but better safe than sorry no? My new card requires 2 8pin PCI-e power connectors opposed to 1 6 pin on my last card. On my power supply it has 6pin and then a 2 adapter along with it in case I need the additional 2 pins. I had trouble getting in one of the 2 pin connector and I'm wondering whether or not that I would notice if its not in properly or not? I am on currently on the computer that indeed has the graphics card installed and from using EVGA Precision X software, currently it sits at 27oC so indeed its up and running but I'm just curious. I may be having goose bumps but Id sooner check before I start doing anything major.

Also my card was the OC Edition, does that mean upon installation it's already Overclocked or merely ready to be overclocked when I ramp up the clock, memory or voltage units? Again perhaps another silly question but I am curious!

The OC edition nomenclature refers to a factory overclocked card.

In order to test out the stability of your GPU and to see if the power PCI-E cables are supplying an efficient amount of voltage, just run it under a heavy load/benchmark to see if it either cuts off or BSODs. If it doesn't then you're good :)

If you hadn't plugged it right it wouldn't have boot up so it's properly connected, still, feel free to reconnect them if you wanna make sure it won't disconnect all of the sudden (very unlikely).

As for the OC Edition, it means it's already overclocked, they usually make a small overclock so if you ever need it you should be able to overclock it further.

Thanks for the information folks! I just ran a Resident Evil 6 benchmark tool as I had it installed, was able to max it out at 1080p with an S ranking for my computers performance (Max Rank) even though I'm rocking an AMD Athlon II X4 750k so Im impressed by the performance, bottleneck was clear but better than my 650 but it does seem stable =) Temps went upto about 60oC which seems normal. I have set Precision X to default settings so shouldnt be overclocked as I only have a 500W PSU hence my ask but seems everything is fine! I can relax now... Heh, time to game on! Cheers folks!
