i'm mainly going to game.
my budget is $800, although i'd like to keep it under that.
i really just want the best possible performance out of a $800 PC
and i'd also like it if this build was future proof by at least 1-2 years.

any suggestions or revisions regarding this build>?

its not good at all? why is that?
i actually already have an operating system(sorry should have added that.)
also, why 6300? is it personal preference?
i don't think that the 6 cores really make much difference..
why do you recommend it?

The processor I suggested is far better suited to gaming. It's among the best gaming CPU's even though it's a stock clock speed.

Coolers are coolers at this price point. Not much to discuss

Saved a bit on mobo, and it's a good option should you want to allocate more funds for a better CPU to overclock. Like the 4960K

Always save money on RAM, which you did on your build. Kudos

120GB SSD I'd personally prefer over a tera or more HD, especially if you use Steam. But lots would disagree

The R9-280 non X edges out the 270X by quite a bit and leaves rooms still for crossfire options later, with a progressive 3GB VRAM at a good price point

Saved a little on the case, but I've used Chasers before. They're well priced

750W PSU to make upgrading psu a little less of a need later on should you want to add an additional 280/280X/7950/7970 in crossfire(these are your options)

You didn't add an optical drive. But you can afford it and saves some frustration at times, so why not?

my friend has the black hawk, and i really think its a good buy so i kept it..
also, i wasn't sure about the video card, and mobo you suggested, can you clarify your reason for them?
i also think 750 watt is overkill...although i see the need for it in the future.
if i plan to add ssd later on, i think this would work well.
what are your thoughts?

That build works quite well, and you could also look into crossfiring two 270X's in the future should you have the money, for good performance. Your 750W psu will cover those cards together. The 4960K is a beast, and could handle any cards your pair with it when overclocked

Well the 280X 3GB > 270X 2GB

FX-6300 <<< 4690K

The 280X and 270X are two tier difference in performance according to Tom's Hierarchy. Whereas the i5 and AMD processors are 3 apart in favor of the i5 obviously. Though, the 270X is kind of lost on the 4960K. You'd just rather see that CPU paired with something more powerful, which is why I'd suggest to one day add another 270X or HD equiv card in crossfire. As long as you're going to play at 1080p of course
