I wondered If I could melt some solder that is vary thin, about 0.40mm I think. Im going to build a LED Cube. I wondered if I could use 15watts or do I need a 30 watts. the price difference is about 2 bucks, but I dont think I will need 30 watts, and I wondered if to much heat could damage the solder?

More about : melt 40mm led tin solder watt solder iron

Too much heat can damage the LED. In any case it should have no problem with a typical solder.

15W is for critical small electronic circuits where anything more would simply damage the soldered components. Its small tip is also practical for soldering around dense parts.
30W is for more general usage.
100W gun is for heavy gauge cables and other stuff with larger mass.

... damage the solder? Soldering iron doesn't damage the solder.
