Which should I upgrade 1st for gaming, i5 2320 @ 3.2Ghz or PNY GTX660 xlr8?

Bare in mind I want to get high frame rates on BF4 and Arma 3 etc.

If you willing to wait for a price drop then wait a bit longer.
If you really need a gpu now, R9 280X is the choice.

Okay thanks for the help, got any recommendations on what card I should go with? I'll have a budget of £180 - £200

The CPU upgrade will help in ARMA and the GPU upgrade will help in Battlefield. I would personally upgrade the CPU first if ARMA is your thing. I believe that ARMA is more intensive on the CPU.

For overall gaming, a GPU upgrade would help the most in terms of fps. That 280x you chose will perform great in games. Sapphire is also a good brand.

Maybe, I was just looking at the gigabyte and msi r9 280x and they looked pretty decent. But I know the gtx 900 series is suppose to be releasing next month so cards like the 770 could come down in price.
